Requiem Mass for David Tredrea

A Requiem Mass for David Tredrea will be celebrated on Saturday, May 10, at 11 a.m. at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral. Visitation will take place at 9 a.m. that morning in the Great Hall. Following the Requiem Mass, a luncheon will be served in the Great Hall.
 
May the soul of the faithful departed rest in piece. 
 
Horsey Scholarships
Applications for the 2008-2009 school year are available in the church office. The scholarships are open to all members of the Cathedral who will be pursuing post-secondary education for the stated school year. The completed applications are due in the office no later than May 11. Members can receive awards more than one year, but applications are only for one year at a time.

Thank you to everyone who helped with the Cathedral's spring cleanup day on May 3! Additional mulch is being ordered in time for the June 7 meeting of  the Men's Prayer Breakfast group. If you can help on that morning, please join the group for breakfast at 8:30 a.m. Work will commence around 9:30 a.m. Thanks!

 
From The Bishop: Waters of Hope

Kicking off the Waters of Hope Ride
 

With a splash of holy water onto their "chariots" (I couldn't find references to bikes in the Scriptures) the ten starting riders of the Waters of Hope set off out of Keokuk yesterday at 9am on the dot. The city had provided a police escort to the River road and we took as many pictures and home video shots as we could.  After further meetings at St John's I took off after them, tracing their rotations first to a Casey's in Montrose where they had been spotted an hour earlier.  Not sure if I had arrived ahead of them in Donnelson , I turned off to check with "home base" – Mills House – to see if I was following the right route.  Suddenly as I was speaking, the Trinity Cathedral Davenport van flashes by in the rear view mirror.  I pursued it at 60 miles an hour for ten more miles until we reached the next town.
